Jakarta, MINA – President Prabowo Subianto has departed for New York, United States, to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Prabowo traveled on a presidential plane from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta.
“According to the received schedule, President Prabowo will deliver his speech third in line at the UN General Debate session on September 23, 2025, following the Presidents of Brazil and the United States,” the official account of the Cabinet Secretariat wrote early Saturday.
After a 10-year absence, an Indonesian President is finally returning to the world’s main stage. President Prabowo’s speech at the UN General Assembly will be a crucial moment to strengthen Indonesia’s position as a major nation active at the forefront of international diplomacy.
“This is the first in-person appearance by an Indonesian President at the UNGA forum in over a decade, making it a significant moment that affirms Indonesia’s role at the forefront of international diplomacy and its commitment to strengthening multilateralism,” said Hamdan Hamedan, Senior Expert for the Government Communications Agency.

After New York, Prabowo will continue his official visit to Ottawa, Canada, on September 24, 2025, to meet with the Prime Minister of Canada. Then, on September 26, 2025, Prabowo will travel to The Hague, Netherlands, for a meeting with the Dutch King and Caretaker Prime Minister. []
