PALESTINIAN GIRL WINS 1ST PRIZE AT THE SMO
West Bank, 22 Safar 1436/15 December 2014 (MINA)– Palestinian girl student Dania Jabari,14, from Hebron won the first Singapore Mathematical Olympiad (SMO) prize, within the international competition for the year of 2014.
Al-Jabari ,who is a student in Barakat primary school, and the student Ahmed Nashawia,8, from Hebron participated in the international competition for mental intelligence in Singapore, with the Palestinian delegation, Jabari got the first degree.
She solved more than 230 long-mathematic questions in just 8 minutes, and the student Ahmed Nashawia managed to solve more than 180 math question in 8 minutes, ALRAY, Palestinian Media Agency quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
1500 participants from more than 15 countries had participated in the National Mathematical Olympiad of Singapore (NMOS).
The Singapore Mathematical Olympiad is the largest and oldest mathematics competition in Singapore, Each year thousands of students from all over the country take part in SMO. (T/P010/R03)
