MER-C DISTRIBUTES AID DIRECTLY TO GAZAN HOMES
Gaza, 18 Ramadan 1435/16 July 2014 (MINA) – One of Indonesian humanitarian agencies that is developing Indonesian hospital in Gaza, Palestine, Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) distributed essential food aid directly to Gazan people who are being attacked by Zionist Israel, since Tuesday.
According to the chairman of MER-C in Gaza, Muqarrabin Al Fikri, the volunteers who are on the duty in Gaza Strip distributed directly food aid to the people’s homes, while the Israeli occupation attacking them.
“This is the mandate from Indonsian people to distribute aids directly to Gazan homes,” said Fikri. He explained, with our visit to their homes, it will give a great moral support for them.
“When we came, they were very happy. It looks on their faces, even though their life are full of threatening, ” said the student of Islamic University of Gaza from Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Indonesian volunteers who work at the Indonesian hospital still work underway. They only focused inside the hospital room, such as the completion of the final electrical work, and the work of painting and cleaning the room.
Until the news written, Israeli occupation still attacked in various regions in Gaza Strip, the number of casualties keeps increasing. On the ninth day, the number of casualties reach 205 people, and 1530 people injured. The ceasefire initiated by Egypt apparently has not yet come true, because the Israeli occupation is still attacking the Gaza Strip and not open the blockade.
Israel is using banned weapons to attack and kill the Gazan people, the Palestinian Deputy Minister of Health Dr Yousef Abu Al Rish said.
“The types of ammunition including Dense Inert Metal Explosive (DIME) which is prohibited by international law,” said Yousef Abu Al Rish at a press conference in Gaza on Sunday (14/7).
The Palestinian ministry of health revealed on Monday that the Israeli army has used a new type of explosive in its offensive on the Gaza Strip. These explosives contain toxics and radioactive materials which burn and tear the victim’s body from the inside and leave long term deformations.
The ministry called upon the international community and the humanitarian organizations to send an international medical community to examine the victims and confirm the truth about these banned weapons that Israel appears to be using.(L/K01/KO3/Nidiya/P04)
