Israeli Forces Attack Palestinian in Ceasefire Period

A 17-year-old Palestinian was killed by an Israeli sniper during Friday’s 'Great March of Return' protest. Nearly 400 others, including journalists and paramedics, were injured in clashes with the IDF along the Gaza border.

Gaza, MINA – One Palestinian died on Saturday was reportedly shoot by Israeli forces and 30 others injured a few days after ceasefire between Israel and Gaza.

About 6.000 Palestinians participated in the Great March of Return demonstration in five locations along the border.

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) accused hundreds of demonstrations of throwing explosives and stones at soldiers across the border fence. The IDF army responded with tear gas and occasional direct fire.

Health Ministry in Gaza said that 24-year-old Abdullah Abed Al-Aal was a resident who died near the southern city of Rafah.

An Arabic-language IDF spokesman shared footage of clashes near Rafah on his Twitter account, which showed Palestinians trying to damage the border fence.

Ministry of Health in Gaza noted that 304 Palestinians had been killed by Israeli forces since the beginning of Great March of Return movement March 30, 2018 to May 9, 2019. As 59 of them were children and 10 women. (T/Sj/R04)
