Gaza, 17 Muharram 1438/18 October 2016 (MINA) – The Palestinian Authority (PA) general authority of civil affairs has said that the Israeli authorities cancelled entry permits for some of its senior employees in the Gaza Strip, condemning the measure as politically motivated.
âSpokesman for the general authority Mohamed al-Makadmeh stated in a press release that entry permits of 12 PA employees, who are responsible for coordinating civil affairs with the Israeli side in Gaza, were invalidated, The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reported.
According to Makadmeh, those employees were in charge of coordinating with the Israeli authorities the passage of different goods and individuals, especially patients, from Gaza to the occupied West Bank, and vice versa.
The civil affairs official rejected Israelâs claim that the permits were revoked for security reasons, expressing his belief that the measure was politicized and part of Israelâs ongoing movement restrictions on the Palestinians.
