Indonesian Light Strike Vehicle Sparks Interest at Indo Defense 2016

Jakarta, 04 Safar 1438/04 November 2016 (MINA) – Indonesia’s Light Strike Vehicle (ILSV), which is bulletproof, attracted foreign visitors at the defense technology exhibition-Indo Defense 2016 – held in Jakarta from November 2 to 5, Antara reported.

“The latest ILSV is black navy, which has the ability of being bulletproof and has a machine gun on the roof,” ILSV marketing staff member Hadi Arrosuli said here on Thursday.

The combat vehicle has been built by two local companies, PT Jala Berikat Nusantara Perkasa (PT Jala) and PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI).

The ILSV bulletproof has a body made from steel material types NIJ Level III, and has four disc brakes at each wheel, and is armed with a gun on the roof for 7.62 millimeter machine guns.

That combat vehicle can reach a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour, with a range of up to 870 kilometers on plain roads.

The matte black color gives the impression of being elegant and powerful. Visually, the vehicle is actually an expansion of a Toyota Hilux car.

The vehicle can accommodate six people with additional equipment of two radios with a frequency of 800 megahertz.

Indo Defense 2016 drew 844 companies, consisting of 573 foreign companies and 271 domestic companies engaged in the defense industry. (T/R07/R01)
