Al-Qassam Brigades to Release 20 Israeli Hostages Under Gaza Ceasefire Deal

Gaza, MINA – The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas, announced Monday that they will release 20 Israeli hostages alive as part of the ongoing Gaza ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.

According to Israeli media, the release process will occur in two phases. The first phase is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. local time (0500 GMT) from the Netzarim area south of Gaza City, while the second phase will take place at 10:00 a.m. (0700 GMT) from the Khan Younis area and central Gaza refugee camps.

The group also released the names of the hostages to be freed, including Elkana Bohbot, Matan Angrest, Avinatan Or, Yosef-Haim Ohana, Alon Ohel, Evyatar Davud, Guy Gilboa-Dalal, Rom Braslavski, twins Gali and Ziv Berman, Eitan Mor, Segev Kalfon, Maxim Herkin, Eitan Horn, Bar Kupershtein, Omri Miran, and brothers David and Ariel Cunio.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has reportedly arrived in Khan Younis to facilitate the exchange under the ceasefire agreement. Earlier, ICRC teams received seven Israeli captives released by Hamas.

The prisoner release is part of the first phase of a broader ceasefire deal aimed at ending Israel’s devastating war on Gaza, which has killed more than 67,800 Palestinians since October 2023, most of them women and children.[]
