Israeli Army Injures 77 Palestinians In Action 80th Friday
Gaza, MINA – The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that as many as 77 Palestinians were injured on Friday (10/25) night due to Israeli military strikes on weekly action in the eastern Gaza Strip.
The ministry said in a statement that 31 people were wounded by live ammunition, Anadolu Agency reported.
Hundreds of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have gathered at the Israeli security fence to take part in the 80th Friday of the anti-occupation protest known as the Great March of Return.
The demonstrators headed east of the coastal enclave, carrying anti-occupation banners and Palestinian flags.
The National High Commission for the Return and Termination of the Siege of Gaza, formed by Palestinian factions, called this week’s demonstration “Our prisoners, our Al-Aqsa Mosque, we will come”.
Since the action began in March last year, more than 320 demonstrators have been killed and thousands more injured by Israeli troops deployed near the buffer zone.
Demonstrators demand an end to Israel’s 12-year blockade on the Gaza Strip, which has destroyed the coastal enclave’s economy and deprived its two million inhabitants of many basic facilities. (T/Ast/P2)
