500 Palestinian Pilgrims Under Guests Program of King Salman Arrive in Makkah

Mina, 07 Dzulhijjah 1437/09 September 2016 (MINA) – The arrival of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud guests of Palestinian pilgrims of families of martyrs totaling 500 male and female pilgrims was completed in Makkah at dawn Thursday.

The group was the second batch of hajj pilgrims from the West Bank invited by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to perform Hajj rituals this year.

They were welcomed upon arrival at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah by a number of officials in the Saudi General Secretariat of the Program of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for Hajj and Umrah of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance.

At least 1,000 Palestinians are expected to perform Hajj this year as the guests of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.

The Palestinians represent the families of those killed in occupied territories.

Deputy Head of the guest pilgrim program Zaid Ali Al-Dukan told the Saudi Gazette, King Salman invites thousands of Muslims from several countries every year to perform Haj and Umrah as his personal guests under two separate programs.

Dukan says the Palestinian pilgrims will be issued Hajj visas from the Saudi Consulate in Cairo and will be flown to the Kingdom by Saudi Arabian Airlines.

As many as 13,000 relatives of Palestinian martyrs performed Hajj as the guests of the King in the past seven years. (T/R07/R01)
