17 INDONESIAN DESIGNERS PERFORM AT HONG KONG FASHION WEEKS

Hong Kong, 20 Ramadan 1436/7 July 2015 (MINA) – As many as 17 Indonesian designers performed at Hong Kong Fashion Weeks of spring and summer in the 6 to July 9, 2015.

In addition, as well as Indonesian Fashion Designers Association (APPMI), the representatives from the Ministry of Industry and four small and medium entrepreneurs assisted by the Ministry of Industry also attended the event and bring fashion collections, accessories, jewelry, shoes and leather bags.

Indonesian General Consul in Hong Kong, Chalief Akbar on Monday said Indonesia has several times attending and involved in the event. Antaranews quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

“The number of participants are coming from Indonesia from year to year tends to increase,” he said.

According to him, creation and innovation of Indonesian designers are not inferior to the work of foreign designers from other countries and the price is very competitive.

“It just needs to be always kept in mind, quality control should really be done so that the quality of exported products is totally guaranteed,” he said.

He explained that the Hong Kong fashion week is an important event for the designers and the Indonesian fashion industry to promote their best work because Hong Kong is the place of potential buyers and sellers from all around the world.

Last year 17,000 potential buyers from 71 countries attended the event.

“Within a year, there are about 200 international exhibitions. 14 of them are remain the flagship, including the Hong Kong Fashion Weeks. So it is a very beneficial event for Indonesian designers to promote their excellent work,” he said.

APPMI Chairman, Ali Charisma said:” this activity become one of the sources of our inspiration to innovate”.

Hong Kong Fashion Weeks 2015 with 1,200 participants from 20 countries themed “Tribal Safari-Into The Wild”. the exhibition  aims to show the uniqueness of the traditional elements of cultural heritage.(T/P008/R03)
