Taiwan’s Onde-ondel Presented at Cap Go Meh in Indonesia
Jakarta, MINA – Taiwan Electric Neon Gods or Taiwan ondel-ondel is back in Indonesia to enliven the Cap Go Meh night event on Monday, in Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta.
Taiwan Ondel-ondel will also be presented at “Bogor Street Festival” in Bogor, West Java on Tuesday .
The head of the Taiwan Economic and Trade Offico Office (TETO) John Chen said that Electric Neon Gods had thick performance with Taiwanese characteristics.
This time is the 5th year of Taiwan Ondel-Ondel invited to Indonesia.
He said, every year the Taiwan ondel ondel performance interest Indonesian citizens.
“Through this attraction, the Indonesian citizens feel a blend of traditional Taiwanese culture with creative modern dance,” Chen said in his written response received by MINA.
According to Chen, the arrival of Taiwan’s Ondel-ondel to Indonesia is also one of the successful examples of New Southbound Policy, this policy strengthens the interaction between the citizens of both countries.
“The Taiwanese Ondel-ondel this time held at Kota Kasablanka, attracted the attention of the public to watch and the media to cover, making the atmosphere of the afternoon’s Cap Go Meh celebration even more festive with Taiwanese characteristics,” Chen added. (TL/Sj/P2)
