Jakarta, MINA – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Ma’ruf Amin officially as president-vice president Indonesia after the inauguration of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) on Sunday 20. They will be the leadership of the government in 2019-2024.
The inauguration procession was led by MPR Chair Bambang Soesatyo and held at the DPR / MPR Building, Senayan, Jakarta.
“By God, I swear I will accept the President of the Republic of Indonesia as well as possible and as fair as possible, uphold the Constitution and carry out all the laws and regulations as straight as possible and serve for Nusa and the Nation,” Jokowi vowed.
“By God, I swear I will accept the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia with pleasure and fairness, uphold the Basic Law and carry out all the laws and regulate them in a straightforward manner and serve for Nusa and the Nation,” said Maruf Amin oath.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by a number of national figures, the sixth President of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), the fifth Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri, and former vice president Jusuf Kalla, as well as other national figures.
Jokowi-Ma’ruf’s rivals in the 2019 Presidential Election were also presented. They are Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno representing as a candidate for the 2019 Presidential Election.
Then, 17 state representatives were also selected to attend the Jokowi-Ma’ruf oath as president-vice president. They also met with Jokowi first at the State Palace before heading to the location of the inauguration. (T/Ais/P2)
