Doha, MINA – The Palestinian resistance group Hamas announced Tuesday that five of its members were killed in an Israeli strike on the Qatari capital, Doha, while confirming that its negotiating delegation survived the attack.
In a statement, Hamas condemned the strike as a “heinous crime and blatant aggression” aimed at assassinating its negotiation team.
“We affirm that the enemy has failed to assassinate our brothers in the negotiating delegation,” the group said.
Hamas identified the victims as Hammam al-Hayya, the son of Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya, office director Jihad Lubad, and three aides: Abdullah Abdel Wahid, Moamen Hassouna, and Ahmed al-Mamlouk. The group also mourned a Qatari security officer killed in the Israeli strike.

Holding both Israel and the US administration accountable, Hamas accused Washington of enabling Israeli crimes through constant support for the occupation.
The group further denounced the strike as an assault on Qatari sovereignty, stressing that Qatar, alongside Egypt plays a key role in mediating efforts to halt Israel’s ongoing assault and secure a ceasefire and prisoner exchange.
Hamas emphasized that the attack occurred as its delegation was discussing a new proposal from US President Donald Trump. It accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of sabotaging international mediation efforts and pursuing criminal schemes of genocide, ethnic cleansing, starvation, and forced displacement.
“The cowardly assassination attempt will not change our positions and demands: an immediate end to aggression, the full withdrawal of the occupation army from Gaza, a genuine prisoner exchange, urgent humanitarian relief, and reconstruction,” Hamas said.

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the attack, calling it a blatant violation of international law. Qatar, along with Egypt and the US, has been mediating indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel.
The Israeli military confirmed it conducted a precise strike against senior Hamas leadership but did not specify Doha as the target location. []
