House Speaker Hails Police`s Decision over Rizieq`s Case

Jakarta, mina — House speaker Bambang Soesatyo here on Sunday hailed the decision of the police to issue a warrant for the termination of the investigation (SP3) of the alleged case of pornographic chat involving Islamic figure Habib Rizieq Shihab.

“The police`s decision of issuing SP3 must be welcomed with greatfulness. It is hoped it will end pros and cons and make situation more conducive,” he was quoted by Antara News as saying in a written statement.

He said the people had waited long for the police`s decision over the case of the leader of Islam Defenders` Front (FPI),

“The investigation has lasted for more than a year since May 2017 but until now police investigators have found the one who has uploaded the chat content in the internet,” he said.

Bambang Soesatyo considered the police`s decision right to reflect true law enforcement.

“By issuing SP3 it means the police have confirmed that Rizieq has no problem with law. It is hoped Rizieq`s supporters and sympathizers would accept the decision with,” he said. (T/RS5/RS1)
