COMMITTEE CALLS FOR STEPPING UP VIGIL AT AL-AQSA SUNDAY
Nazareth, 13 Dzulhijjah 1436/27 September 2015 (MINA) – The Arab Follow-up Committee in the 1948 occupied territories called on the Muslim masses to intensify presence at the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday (27/9).
Deputy chairman of the committee Jureis Matar urged the Palestinian national factions to take part in the projected vigils at Al-Aqsa in protest at Israel’s mounting aggressions and Judaization schemes at such a holy place of worship, The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
He said the cause of Al-Aqsa and Occupied Jerusalem is an existential battle, with deep political, religious, and national implications.
The sit-ins are set to kick off at 8 a.m. in response to the calls launched by Israeli fanatic organizations to step up desecration break-ins at Muslims’ Al-Aqsa.
Meanwhile Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Amin Madani, is expected to head to New York Saturday to partake in the 70th session of the UN General Assembly set to kick off Monday.
The OIC is expected to hold an emergency meeting in New York to seek possible ways to bring Israel’s simmering aggressions on Al-Aqsa and Occupied Jerusalem to a halt.
Palestine’s flag will also fly at the United Nations headquarters for the first time after the UN General Assembly overwhelmingly approved a Palestinian-drafted resolution.(T/P008/R03)
