Jakarta, MINA – The Chairman of the Aqsa Working Group (AWG) Presidium, Muhammad Ansharullah, asserted that the Indonesian people’s support for the Palestinian struggle for independence will never waver, despite the emergence of various international schemes that fail to address the root cause of the Zionist Israeli occupation.

This statement was delivered during the Palestine Solidarity March held in Jakarta on Friday. Hundreds of protesters participated in a long march from the Palestinian Embassy to the United States Embassy.

Ansharullah emphasized that the demonstration is a form of concrete solidarity and steadfast support from Indonesians for the Palestinian people in reclaiming their rights, most importantly, the right to live freely in their own homeland.

During his oration, Ansharullah specifically criticized the Board of Peace (BoP) discourse that has recently surfaced as a proposed solution to the crisis. According to him, the BoP is not just a path forward for the Palestinian people.

“The Board of Peace is not the solution for the crisis in Palestine. In fact, it will only strengthen the legitimacy of the Zionist Israeli occupation,” he stated firmly.

He argued that any peace formula that does not begin with ending the occupation and restoring the rights of the Palestinian people will only prolong their suffering and solidify the position of the occupier.

The long march in Jakarta reaffirmed the Indonesian public’s consistent stance in standing at the forefront of the Palestinian struggle. Protesters carried Palestinian flags and banners condemning Israeli aggression, while calling on the international community to cease all support for the Zionist occupation.

The AWG also urged all elements of the Muslim community and the wider Indonesian public to maintain their concern for Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian cause until true independence is achieved.
