Jenin, MINA – A young Palestinian was martyred and another one was wounded on Sunday after Israeli forces opened fire at a vehicle in the east of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, before detaining the injured man, the Palestinian Information Center reports.
According to Hebrew media, the Israeli occupation army justified the shooting by claiming the driver attempted to carry out a car-ramming attack east of Jenin. Following the shooting, the Israeli army deployed additional forces to the area and blocked nearby roads.
The killing comes amid an ongoing escalation of Israeli military operations and settler violence across the occupied West Bank, which have intensified since October 2023.
According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society, more than 25,000 Palestinians have been kidnapped from the West Bank since October 2023, including children, women, journalists, and human rights activists.
