Night of Palestinian Culture Held in Jakarta

Jakarta, MINA – The Palestinian Culture night was held in Jakarta to commemorate the 54th year of the Palestinian Revolution. The event took place at Graha Bhakti Budaya, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Wednesday 27 Feb.

The Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Zuhair Al Shun in his remarks stated that the event was held to show the spirit and struggle of the Palestinian people, who had never broken up to gain independence, which began since the Palestinian Revolution on January 1, 1965.

“Tonight through cultural diplomacy, we want our voices can be heard louder and clearer in the world,” Zuhair said.

In the event, Ambassador Palestine for Indonesia Al-Shun specifically expressed his gratitude for the continued support of the Indonesian people – for the Palestinian people to achieve true independence with Al Quds Ash-Sharif or Jerusalem as its capital.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesia-Palestine Friendship Initiative Din Syamsuddin called the Palestinian Culture Night was the first time held in Indonesia as a symbol of the close relations between the two countries.

On this event, Din invited the Indonesian people to ensure commitment and solidarity for the struggle of the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian cultural night program was filled with various events such as exhibitions photographs, Palestinian traditional dance Dabka and Ratoeh Jaroe dance originating from Aceh, as well as Palestinian songs delivered by Palestinian singer Numan Al Jalmawi. (TL/Ais/P2)
