Jama'ah Muslimin (Hizbullah) Decides 1st Dhulhijah on Saturday

Jakarta, 29 September 2016 Dhulqo’dah 1437/2 (MINA) Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah) as a forum of the unity of Muslims decided one Dhulhijah on Saturday, September 3 rd, 2016. So, Idul Adha will be on Monday, September 12 th.

This decision was taken after receiving information from the various regions that none of Muslim see the new moon. Thus the date of the month Dhulqo’dah completed to 30 days and one Dhulhijah on Saturday.

The chief board of reckoning and Rukyah Jamaah Muslimin (Hizbullah), KH Marsai stated, using global rukyat method set the same day to determine the beginning of fasting, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, the guidelines which closer to the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad is a global rukyah.

By using methods of global rukyah, Muslims around the world will have a day of fasting, Eid, and isul adha in the same day.

Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia has also been decided that 1 Dzhulhijjah 1437 on a Saturday, September 3, 2016 so that certain day of Eid al-Adha is next Monday.

“1 Dzhulhijah will coincide on Saturday 3 September 2016 and Eid al-Adha on Monday September 12 2016,” said the Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin in Jakarta, Thursday (1 / 9).

Based on the calculation of reckoning, the position of the new moon is seen from across Indonesia are in minus 1 degree 13 minutes 29 seconds to 0 degrees 5 minutes 58 seconds, which means that the position of the new moon is under horizon and the moon is not visible.
