Bogor, MINA – Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah) has officially declared that 1 Shawwal 1447 AH, marking Eid al-Fitr, will fall on Friday, March 20, 2026.
The decision was made following an sidang isbat (moon-sighting confirmation) session held at the Al-Fatah Islamic Boarding School complex in Pasirangin, Cileungsi, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Wednesday night (March 18).
The ruling was based on reports indicating that the crescent moon (hilal) marking the beginning of Shawwal 1447 AH was not sighted in any location.
Imaam of Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah), Yakhsyallah Mansur, stated that the determination of 1 Shawwal 1447 AH is grounded in the commandments of Allah, including verses from Surah Al-Baqarah (2:185), Yunus (10:5), An-Nisa (4:59), as well as hadiths concerning the sighting of the crescent moon.

In a hadith, he quoted: “Fast when you see the crescent and break your fast when you see it. If it is obscured (by clouds), then complete the count to thirty days,” referring to the words of the Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him.
He also cited a narration reported by Ahmad: “Fast together with Jama’ah Muslimin, whether under clear or cloudy conditions.”
“May Allah unite the Muslim Ummah in His pleasure,” Imaam Yakhsyallah Mansur prayed.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia also announced that 1 Shawwal 1447 AH falls on Friday, March 20, 2026, after confirming that the crescent moon was not sighted in any locations.
