JAMA’AH MUSLIMIN FULLY SUPPORTS HAMAS-FATAH RECONCILIATION

         Jakarta, 8 Rabiul Awal 1434/20 January 2013 (MINA) – Imaamul Muslim Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah) Shaykh Muhyidin Hamidy expressed his full support to Hamas-Fatah reconciliation which is now in a bright spot as a result of the last Hamas-Fatah meeting held on Thursday in Cairo.  

        “We fully support Hamas-Fatah reconciliation and ask them to strengthen it among others with more intensive meetings,” said Hamidy.

      To make these two main factions closer together, Hamidy said Palestinian prisoners from both Fatah and Hamas should be released immediately, no one should be left in Israeli jails.

      Imaam Hamidy also suggests to Ismail Haniya, the leader in Gaza to make more  visits to West Bank as well as Mahmud Abbas, the leader in West Bank should also often visit Gaza.

      He said Hamas-Fatah Unity is a must from all sides, aqidah and ukhuwah Islamiyyah as well as the interests of Palestinians themselves. As ukhuwah unity is a reflection of the Qur’an, Surah Ali Imran  verse 103.

      When he was asked about the two-state solution, the General Manager of  Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) said based on the history, Israel never kept its promise and did not want to make a peace. As the agreement which was agreed before. Israel has always betrayed it, including the truce 21 November 2012 ago.

      “Israel did not want to make peace, but it does not mean that we (Muslims) do not want to make a permanent peace with them. If they fight us, so we must defend ourselves , but the permanent peace must be a priority, “he said.

      Hamas officials always state their stand in favor of one-state solution for ending the Israel-Palestinian conflict.

      To support Palestinians struggle to reach independence, Jama’ah Muslimin has so far been making various efforts ranging from sending letters to both parties Hamas and Fatah. In addition. We also held seminars of Al-Quds and Palestine liberation.

      We have also recently held International Conference on Al Quds inviting world leaders and we have also been organizing long marches and routine fundraisings for supporting Palestinian struggle for independence.

      The latest conference held by Jama’ah Muslimin was International conference for the Liberation of Al Quds and Palestine on July 2012 attended by many world leaders from Palestine, Turkey, Jordan, Malasyia, Philippines, United Kingdom and other Muslim countries. Now, Jamaah Muslimin has 27 volunteers in Gaza. They have been working in a project  to build Indonesian Hospital for Palestine.

      Other support for Palestinian reconciliation was also voiced by one of the leaders who attended the international conference on Al Quds, Prof. Hafidzi Mohd Noor, the chairman of Aqsa Sharif (Malaysia NGOs for Palestine). He stated that the reconciliation is an important step toward Palestinian independence.

      “I congratulate Palestinian people for reaching a significant progress in their leaders reconciliation efforts. I hope Palestinians are going to be absolutely independent,” said the professor.

     The Meeting of Hamas-Fatah representative Thursday (17/1)  has agreed the establishment of joint committee to develop and activate the next reconciliation meetings for the acceleration of Palestinian liberation. The next meetings will be held at the end of January and nine February in Cairo. (T/R-025/R-006).
