Gaza, MINA – A seven-month-old baby girl died in Gaza City on Tuesday morning due to severe cold, highlighting the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the besieged enclave, Wafa reported.
Medical sources reported that Shatha Abu Jarad succumbed to the extreme winter conditions. Her death brings the total number of children who have died in Gaza from the cold since the start of winter to nine.
The tragic incident underscores the critical shortages of adequate shelter, heating, and humanitarian aid in the Strip. Residents, particularly displaced families living in fragile tents, are struggling to cope with stormy, cold, and rainy weather amid severe fuel shortages and limited access to medical care.[]
