Ramallah, MINA – The Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs has said that Palestinian prisoners in Ofer jail are enduring deteriorating health and incarceration conditions, compounded by systematic physical abuse and medical neglect.
“Ofer prisoners are served poor-quality and insufficient food amid conditions that are heightening concerns over their health and ability to endure detention, particularly as sick detainees continue to be deprived of necessary medical care,” the Commission said in a statement released on Sunday.
“The detainees also face critical shortages of clothing, blankets, and hygiene items, while outdoor and bathing times have also been curtailed, contributing to an unchecked spread of skin infections among prisoners,” the Commission added.

According to testimonies cited by the Commission, frequent raids on prison cells and sections are routinely accompanied by beatings, abuse, and humiliation, subjecting detainees to intense physical and psychological strain.[]
