Jakarta, MINA – Indonesia overwhelmed Singapore in the second half of the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup match at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium, Jakarta, on Friday night.
After taking a 1-0 lead in the first half through a goal by Ragnar Oratmangoen (11), Singapore effectively undid their own efforts in the second half with a rough foul that resulted in a red card in the 67th minute.
Defender Safuwan Baharudin (21) fouled Indonesian forward Ole Romeny (10) just outside the penalty area. The referee initially issued a yellow card to Baharudin.
However, before Indonesia could take the free-kick, the referee received a signal from the VAR room, prompting him to review the footage on the pitchside monitor.

The replay revealed that Baharudin was the last Singaporean defender, making the foul a more serious offense. The referee promptly returned to Baharudin, rescinded the yellow card, and issued a red card in the 70th minute.
Consequently, Singapore was forced to play with 10 men.
Thom Haye (19) took the free-kick, but the shot failed to get through the defensive wall.
However, the referee awarded a penalty to Indonesia; the ball had struck the hand of Uiyoung Song (7) in an unnatural position.

The Garuda squad was unable to fully capitalize on their numerical advantage. The 2-0 scoreline remained until the final whistle.
