Jakarta, MINA – The FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 Division 1 match between the Indonesian national team and Malaysia was heated from the start, featuring several incidents, including a red card.

During the match at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta on Monday night, Indonesia scored an early goal against the Harimau Malaya (Malayan Tigers) in the 3rd minute; however, the referee ruled that Elkan Baggott (20) had committed a foul prior to the goal being scored.

The score remained 0-0.

In the 5th minute, a heated incident occurred when Kevin Diks (2) shoved Malaysian player Bergson (9) while vying for the ball near the sideline. Bergson, who appeared to be feigning injury, provoked Diks’s temper.

From the 36th minute, Indonesia played with 10 men, creating a difficult situation for the *Garuda* squad and posing a challenge for goalkeeper Maarten Paes.

In stoppage time, Indonesia nearly scored when Dean James (21) dispossessed a Malaysian player. However, Dean James’s long-range shot was parried away by goalkeeper Syihan Hamzi (16).

Shortly after, the referee paused the match. The score remained 0-0. []
