Barcelona, MINA – The pro-Palestinian activist fleet, Global Sumud Flotilla, continues to prepare for a new mission to reach the Gaza Strip via land and sea routes. The international group, which attempted to sail to the blockaded territory last year, will try again on March 29.
The Global Sumud Flotilla stated that the new mission will be the largest coordinated humanitarian intervention for Palestine in history, mobilizing around 1,000 activists from 100 countries.
“We will sail from Barcelona, Tunis, Italy, and many other unpublished ports,” said Brazilian activist Thiago Avila.
The group also announced that a land convoy will depart for Gaza on the same day, though the starting point was not specified.

Last October, the campaigners attempted to break the Israeli blockade by sending aid to Gaza by sea before being intercepted, detained, and deported by Israeli occupation forces. Activists describe their actions as a non-violent response to genocide, blockade, mass starvation, and the destruction of civilian life in Gaza.[]
