Vice President Leads Heroes’ Day Commemoration

Jakarta, MINA – Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia M Jusuf Kalla, presides over the 10 November 2018 Heroes’ Day commemoration, at the Kalibata Heroes’ Cemetery, Jakarta, Saturday (10/11).

Vice President arrived with his wife Ms. Mufida at the Kalibata Heroes’ Cemetery  around 07.55 a.m. local time.

As the ceremony’s inspector, Vice President paid homage to the spirits of the heroes while remembering the November 10, 1945 battle of Surabaya with a siren ringing for one minute.

On 10 November became a reminder of the Indonesian people for the battle of Surabaya community to defend the independence and drive away the invaders.

Then, Vice President paused and sprinkled flowers on the heroes’ cemetery. It followed by a prayer for the spirits of Indonesian heroes.

In Ceremonial, there are participants from military, civil, veteran, and Indonesian Army. They were solemnly praying for the heroes who had fallen to defend the nation.

Previously, Indonesian government on the commemoration of Heroes’ Day had pinned the title of National Hero to six people at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday. (T/Sj/RS5)
