PALESTINIAN YOUNG MEN HEAD TO AQSA MOSQUE IN MOTORCYCLE PARADE

Jerusalem, 2 Jumadal Akhir 1436/22 March 2015 (MINA) – At the invitation of “Youth for al-Aqsa,” a massive rally of Palestinian motorcycle drivers on Saturday evening (21/3) moved from Jaffa Port to occupied Jerusalem in support of the Aqsa Mosque.

About 150 motorcycle drivers from the Arab cities of Jaffa, Ramla, Lod, Tayiba, and Qalansawe participated in the procession, which was inaugurated by a speech delivered by Sheikh Mohamed Ayesh, one of the organizers, who welcomed the participants and thanked them for responding to the invitation, Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islami  News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

He stated that the motorcycle parade was not an entertainment event, but an effort to send a message from the Aqsa Mosque to the whole world.

Sheikh Ra’ed Salah, head of the Islamic Movement in the 1948 occupied lands, also addressed the motorcyclists and hailed their participation in the event and solidarity with the Aqsa Mosque.

The motorcycle parade was organized in response to Israeli orders issued against a number of Palestinian figures from Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied lands banning them from entering the holy city or the Aqsa Mosque.

In this regard, manager of the Aqsa Mosque’s manuscripts department Sheikh Najeh Bakirat applauded, in press remarks to Quds Press, the motorcycle procession to the Aqsa Mosque.

Bakirat described the rally as “a clear message to the Israeli occupation that Jerusalem is always for the Palestinians.”

“The rain starts with drops, and the rallying of such young men today, even their number is small, will be tomorrow in thousands and later hundreds of thousands. The wisdom is not in the number of people but in their quality, determination, and vigor,” he stated. (T/P006/P3)
