MAKKAH GOVERNOR REVIEWS HAJ READINESS

Jeddah, 16 Shawwal 1436/2 August 2015 (MINA) – Makkah Governor Prince Khaled Al-Faisal met with leaders of security forces in the region on Thursday to discuss future plans and mechanisms to limit infiltrators from entering the holy sites via land passageways during Haj.

During the meeting, heads of security forces presented their respective modus operandi, while Prince Khaled congratulated them on their efforts in protecting and serving citizens and residents in the Kingdom, according to  IINA reports as received by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).

Mowafaq Abutaleb, managing director of the Haj and Umrah Administration in Makkah, said it is essential to ensure preparations are in place at the holy sites in order to begin work at the start of Dhul Hijjah, noting that managers of health sites have begun their process well in advance in order to ensure quality services are provided to pilgrims around the clock.

In a statement, he said the administration has commissioned directors to manage hospitals at the different holy sites, noting that their duties include monitoring, inspecting and overseeing all medical and non-medical equipment such as gas networks, oxygen and medical air systems.

They are also responsible for overseeing fire alarm systems, wiring and electrical generators, central air conditioning units, morgues, the water system, communications systems, hygiene, manpower, medical supplies and medications. (T/P007/R04)
