Jakarta, 14 Ramadan 1436/1 July 2015 (MINA) – Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah), Wednesday (1/7), delivered its statement to the Chinese Embassy in Jakarta related to the prohibition and restriction of fasting by  local government of XinJiang, China.

A number of activists coming from the group and students of STAI Al Fatah went to the Embassy in Jalan Mega Kuningan No. 2, Jakarta to deliver the statement. The Chief of Ukhuwah Council of the group, Bustamin Utje said Indonesian Muslims feels suffer when their Muslim  brothers in Xinjiang cannot do fasting comfortably.

“We concerned about the issue and asked the government of Xinjiang to give freedom for Muslims in implementing their religion as the Prophet Muhammad had also paid tribute to Christian and Jewish citizens in carrying their religion,” he said.

Hopefully, he expressed, the Chinese embassy in Jakarta could deliver the letter to the government of Xinjiang and they repeal the banning fasting rule and restrictions excesses toward Muslims in the region.

“Muslims are not restricted by territory, tribe, nation and state. We are brothers. If Muslims in China are unable to practice their religion comfortably, then we, Indonesian Muslims have a duty to defend them to get their rights back, “said Bustamin.

Bustamin said the group will conduct a peaceful action, without anarchists because Islam teaches peace and mercy for all mankind. But if the Xinjiang government does not heed the call, then he will bring bigger crowds to express their aspirations.

Meanwhile, the Embassy Political attaché who welcomed the delegation, Mr. Fang, expressed appreciation for receiving the representatives at his office.  He stated in the next few days, they will invite Islamic organizations and journalists to hold a press conference on the issue.

Explicitly, the embassy denies the existence of the banning and the news was released by Western media that have a specific purpose on China.

Regarding the official statement, the embassy is waiting for the Ambassador Xie Feng and the spokesman who currently outside Indonesia. (L/P011/R03/R04)
