Washington, MINA – US President Donald Trump claimed on Wednesday that he is working to ease tensions between Israel and Lebanon, announcing that “leaders” from both sides are expected to hold talks after more than three decades without direct communication.
Quoted from Al-Mayadeen, in a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that efforts are underway to create “a little breathing room” between “Israel” and Lebanon, adding that it has been “a long time since the two leaders have spoken, like 34 years.”
“It will happen tomorrow. Nice!” he added, without providing further details on the nature of the talks or the officials involved.
No official confirmation has yet been issued by Lebanese government authorities regarding the reported communication. []
