Tehran, MINA – Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya military headquarters has issued a stark warning that it will target US and Israeli energy infrastructure, information technology systems, and water desalination plants if Iran’s own energy facilities are attacked, signaling a major escalation in the ongoing regional confrontation, Al Jazeera reported.

In a statement released Saturday, the headquarters said: “As we have warned previously, if the enemy targets Iran’s energy infrastructure, we will respond by targeting all energy-related infrastructure, information technology, and desalination plants in the United States and the Zionist entity in the region.”

The warning comes amid heightened tensions following a post by US President Donald Trump on his Truth Social account, in which he issued a 48-hour ultimatum regarding the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

“If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

In a related development, Israeli media reported on Saturday evening that several sites in Dimona, in southern Israel, were struck by Iranian missiles, with concerns that settlers may be trapped under the rubble.

According to reports, the latest missile barrage caused damage across parts of Dimona, with impacts reported in multiple locations. Israeli outlets also confirmed that a gas storage tank in the area was hit, raising concerns over a potential leak.

The Iranian retaliation followed a renewed US-Israeli attack on Saturday morning targeting the Natanz enrichment complex in central Iran, according to Iranian authorities. The Shahid Ahmadi Roshan nuclear facility at Natanz was struck, marking another attack on a nuclear site in the ongoing US-Israeli war on Iran.

The attack on Natanz has drawn condemnation for violating international law and obligations, including the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), as well as regulations related to nuclear safety and security.
