Indonesia Can Play Big Role in Resolving Kashmir Issue

Jakarta, MINA – The Ambassador of Pakistan to Indonesia, H.E Muhammad Hassan said that Indonesia could play a big role in resolving the Kashmir issue.

“Indonesia is a very important country in the regions. I believe Indonesia could play big role in resulting solution,” said the Ambassador in an interview with MINA’s journalist team, in Jakarta on Monday, March 22nd.

Indonesia is not only the largest Muslim country, but also the largest country in East Asia and it is the member of G20, continued Ambassador Hassan, who has just started serving in Indonesia.

“Therefore, Indonesian voice is being heard in the International Community. So, Indonesian position has a high bargaining position in the eyes of the international community, including to press India to stop violence’s,” he said.

Apart from that, Indonesia has good relations with both India and Pakistan.

According to Hassan, the situation in Kashmir remains alarmingis, especially after India in 2019 revoked the status of a special region that had been granted to this predominantly Muslim region.

It has had an impact on the security crisis in Kashmir to date.

“Since that day now it’s one year and seven months that the whole leadership of the Kashmiri people under detention,” said the Ambassador.
