Gaza, 7 Dzulqo’dah 1435/2 September 2014 (MINA) – A group of Palestinian human rights organizations urged Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas to apply again to accede to the Rome Statute and seek jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC) without further delay so as be able to pursue Israeli war crimes.

Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights, al-Haq, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, and al-Mezan Center for Human Rights called, in a joint appeal to Abbas, for pursuing an investigation into Israel’s war crimes by taking the case to the ICC.

The organizations said they assigned for the affair a 100-member-team of investigators and field observers, along with data-inputs for field surveys to be pigeonholed in computerized databases, Al-Resalah quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

The appointed crews will have to perform their allotted missions according to a unified work strategy governed by an inter-organizations co-operation rationale whose aim is to provide the most true-to-life updates on the casualties and the backgrounds of the massacres along with the destruction wrought on family homes and civilian institutions, including residential apartment towers, schools and mosques.

Alongside the above mission, a cycle of investigation procedures and data collection will take place based on sworn affidavits and on-the-spot testimonies to be released by war casualties and veterans on Israel’s unspeakable slaughter of innocent children and civilian families.

The groups called on the expert authorities to give assistance to the documentation procedure by ensuring a swift acquisition of medical reports, maps and other certified data outlining Israel’s war crimes and contributing, therefore,  in deterring future abuses and taking tougher lines with instigators of terrorism and violence.(T/P02/P3)
