Braga, MINA – Braga and Freiburg played to a 1-1 draw throughout the first half of the Europa League semifinal first leg at the Estadio Municipal de Braga on Thursday.

The home side’s goal was scored by Demir Ege Tiknaz (34) in the 8th minute, and Vincenzo Grifo (32) equalized in the 16th minute.

In the second half, the match became more intense.

Freiburg had a golden opportunity through Grifo in the 63rd minute when he received a header from a teammate and shot from close range. However, his shot went straight at goalkeeper Lucas Hornicek (1).

In injury time, Braga increased their attack. And it paid off.

In the 90+2 minute, a Braga attack disrupted the Freiburg defense. Victor Gomez (2), who carried the ball to the back line on the left side of Freiburg’s area, sent a cutback into the center of the penalty box.

The ball was met by Carvalho (6) with a direct shot into the goal. Goalkeeper Hornicek was able to parry it with both hands. The rebound fell right in front of Mario Dorgeles (20).

The Ivorian player immediately pounced on the ball, just in front of the goalkeeper.
