Malang, MINA – Arema FC hosted Malut United at Kanjuruhan Stadium on Friday afternoon in the 2025/2026 Super League.
Singo Edan (Mad Lions) are on a four-match winless streak and currently sit in 11th place with 31 points. Meanwhile, Malut United are in fourth place with 41 points.
The first half was immediately intense, with Laskar Kie Raha (The Four Kingdoms Army) launching a barrage of attacks against the Lions’ stronghold.
Malut United’s pressure led to Singo Edan scoring an own goal in the 12th minute. However, the referee did not immediately award the goal.

The referee then conducted a VAR check outside the field. The referee’s assessment focused on an incident involving David da Silva (17) pushing Anwar Rifai (23), who was heading the ball, before the own goal was scored.
The referee then ruled that da Silva had fouled Anwar Rifai. The goal was disallowed.
The match continued with the score still 0-0.
In the 26th minute, Singo Edan earned a corner kick after a rare attack.

Gustavo Franca (77) delivered a precise, curling shot straight into the net.
Goal. Goalkeeper Angga Saputra (1) failed to prevent the ball from being blocked by the dense crowd in front of his goal.
As it turned out, the referee decided that Hansamu Yama (66) had scored. Hansamu had touched the ball before it entered the net.
The score was 1-0 to Arema Malang.

However, in the 36th minute, the referee suddenly pointed to the penalty spot during a fight for the ball in Arema’s penalty area.
Arema player Johan Alfirizi (87) was deemed to have pushed Malut United player Igor Inocencio (6) down.
To confirm his decision, the referee again checked the VAR. The result was still a foul and a penalty.
David da Silva (17) stepped up to take the penalty and coolly beat goalkeeper Adi Satryo (30).

The score remained that way until halftime.
