Nottingham Forest vs Porto: The Dragons’ Red Card Gives Tricky Trees a First-Half Goal

Nottingham, MINA – Nottingham Forest hosted FC Porto in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals on Friday early morning WIB at City Ground.

Previously, the first leg in Portugal had resulted in a 1-1 aggregate score.

This time, Tricky Trees coach Vitor Pereira implemented a 4-2-3-1 formation, while The Dragons coach Francesco Farioli relied on a 4-3-3 formation.

Early in the first half, the visiting team’s first golden opportunity came through Terem Moffi (29), who dueled with goalkeeper Stefan Ortega (27). However, the Nigerian player’s shot was saved by Ortega.

In the 5th minute, a violent incident occurred during a fight for the ball. Porto defender Jan Bednarek (5) kicked Chris Wood (11) in the knee with the sole of his boot. The dangerous incident was then reviewed by VAR outside the field.

The referee then showed Bednarek a red card in the 8th minute.

The numerical advantage quickly gave the home team a goal.

In the 12th minute, Morgan Gibbs-White (10), dribbling forward in the penalty box, took a shot. The ball hit Porto’s Pablo Rosario’s foot, causing it to rebound and change direction.

Goalkeeper Diogo Costa (99), who was unable to move, was unable to do much.

GOAL! The score changed to 1-0, with a 2-1 aggregate in Nottingham’s favor.
