Riyadh, MINA – Cristiano Ronaldo has once again proven he is far from finished, continuing to score goals amidst his ongoing rift with the Portuguese national team and the Portuguese Football Federation.
Starting for Al-Nassr as they hosted FK Neftchi at Alawwal Park, Riyadh, in an AFC Champions League Elite match for the 2026/27 season on Monday, the star known as CR7 netted his team’s second goal in the 42nd minute.
Earlier, Angelo Gabriel had opened the scoring for Al-Nassr in the 33rd minute; Ronaldo then unleashed a powerful shot past the goalkeeper in the 42nd minute to extend his club’s lead to 2-0.
Alisher Odilov narrowed the deficit for Neftchi to 2-1 in the 51st minute.

However, a red card shown to Ekromjon Alibaev in the 65th minute shifted the match’s momentum, forcing Neftchi to play with ten men.
Anvarjon Gofurov subsequently scored an own goal in the 78th minute, sealing a 3-1 victory for Al-Nassr.
Ronaldo’s goal brought his career tally to an extraordinary 981, leaving him just 19 goals shy of the historic 1,000-goal milestone.
The match was delayed for an hour due to a tense security alert in Riyadh after a ballistic missile was intercepted by Saudi air defense systems. []
