Gaza, 24 Muharram 1436/7 November 2015 (MINA) – A 23-year-old Palestinian man has been shot and killed by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip today, Palestinian officials have revealed.

A 72-year-old woman was also shot dead in the occupied West Bank earlier in the day.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza identified the man as Salameh Moussa Abu Jame. He was shot east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip during clashes in the area. MiddleΒ  East Monitor (MEMO) reported, Saturday (7/11).

Some 17 Palestinians were also injured during clashes near the Erez crossing. Demonstrations broke up along the Gaza-Israel border with Israeli forces firing tear gas canisters at demonstrators.

An Israeli army spokesperson said: “Tens of Palestinians gathered and approached the security buffer zone and attempted to damage the security fence.”

Earlier, Tharwat Al-Sharawi, 72, was shot dead in Halhul after Israeli forces claimed she attempted a “vehicle attack” on forces in the area.

Two Palestinian youths who were standing at a gas station nearby were injured as Israeli gunfire shattered the car’s windows.

Abu Jame was the 75th Palestinian to be killed since the beginning of October. (T/P002/R03)
