Bogor, MINA – STAI Al-Fatah Cileungsi, Bogor, held an international seminar titled “Challenging the State of Israel” on Sunday, urging academic institutions to play a more active role in raising awareness about Palestine.

The seminar featured several speakers, including Imaam Yakhsyallah Mansur, Principal Advisor of the Aqsa Working Group (AWG); Wahyudi KS, a lecturer at STAI Al-Fatah; M. Anshorullah, Chairman of AWG; and Ahed Abu Al-Atta, Director of the Friendship and Civilization Studies Institute (YPSP).

Wawan Hermawansyah, Chairman of STAI Al-Fatah, said that universities have an important role as centers for scientific study on world events, including the Palestinian issue.

“We hope that all campuses can become central points in responding to various events happening in the world, especially Palestine, through scientific studies,” he said.

He noted that until now, only a few universities have actively and extensively raised the Palestinian issue through academic activities such as seminars and book reviews.

“There are still some campuses that hold book reviews and studies on Palestine, but it is not yet optimal. The academic world’s response to events in Palestine remains very limited,” he said.

Wawan expressed hope that the event organized by STAI Al-Fatah could serve as a catalyst for other campuses in Indonesia to present scientific studies on Palestine.

“Hopefully this will become a snowball effect that spreads to other academic circles to open more scientific studies on various events in Palestine,” he added.

He affirmed that STAI Al-Fatah will continue to hold similar activities and encourage the dissemination of scientific study results to the public so that more people understand the Palestinian issue academically and objectively.[]
