Tehran, MINA – Iran will block all oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz if its maritime access is restricted, a senior IRGC official said Tuesday, according to Anadolu Agency.
Saeed Siah-Sarani, deputy for cultural affairs of Iran’s IRGC Navy, said Iran would not allow “even a single liter of oil” to transit the strategic waterway under such conditions.
“Our hands are on the trigger,” he said, adding that Iranian forces are fully prepared to defend the country across land, sea, and air.
He said the strait remains under Iran’s management, and vessels must comply with Iranian regulations.

Siah-Sarani dismissed the US “naval blockade” on Iran as ineffective.
The Strait of Hormuz is a critical energy chokepoint, with about one-fifth of global oil supply passing through it daily.
The waterway has faced disruptions since the US and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran on February 28.
The war is currently on hold under a ceasefire, while diplomatic efforts continue for a lasting agreement.[]
