Budapest, MINA – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has traveled to Hungary despite facing widespread criticism over the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant issued against him.

Netanyahu is reportedly en route to Hungary, even though calls have been made for the Central European nation and its Prime Minister Viktor Orban to comply with the arrest warrant issued by the ICC.

As reported by Al Jazeera on Wednesday, several human rights organizations, including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), have condemned Hungary for welcoming Netanyahu.

Along with former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Netanyahu is sought by the ICC for war crimes, including causing famine among Palestinians and committing various crimes against humanity, including the mass killing of civilians.

Hungary, while a member of the ICC, has rejected the call to arrest Netanyahu. It is speculated that Hungary may consider leaving the international body in the future. []
