Shaykh Mishari Rasyid Visits Jakarta

Jakarta, MINA – Shaykh Mishari Rasyid, an Al-Quran reciter, hafidz, imam, and munsyid visited in Jakarta, Indonesia on Sunday, September 29.

“Ahlan wa sahlan” for the Shaykh who was present at the “Light of the Quran for Indonesia”, was held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Senayan, Central Jakarta.

Mishary Rashid revealed that when he first came to Indonesia, he was no longer strange because the people like to read Al-Quran.

“Indonesia is a country whose people love Al-Quran,” he said.

“Indonesia is the largest Muslim country that I deserve to go to,” added the owner’s full name Shaykh Mishary Rashid Ghareeb Mohammed Rashid Al-Afasy. As reported by City News.

Al-Afasy often appears in the Al-Quran recitation program on television in the Middle East, America, and Europe.

He studied Quran at the College of Holy Quran at the Islamic University of Madinah (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). He memorized the entire Al-Quran in the two years 1992-1994 and then studied specializing in ten readings of the Quran.

Mishary Al Afasy is the Imam of the Grand Mosque of Kuwait, and every Ramadan he leads Tarawih Prayer in this Mosque. He very often leads Tarawih prayers in the UAE and other neighboring countries in the Gulf region. (T/Sj/P2)
