Ratu Inoke to Attend Talks on Security in Indonesia
Suva, MINA — Fiji is being represented at a ministerial meeting in Indonesia which is discussing issues affecting the Asia-Pacific region.
Minister of Defence and National Security, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola has arrived in Bali for the Seventh Ministerial Conference on the Bali Process on People Smuggling, Trafficking in Persons and Related Transnational Crime, Fiji Sun reported Monday.
The ministerial conference would be attended by 45 member countries and three member organisations of the Bali Process and a number of observing countries and organisations.
The Bali Process is a forum comprising ministers from the Asia-Pacific region responsible for security to discuss Government initiatives and other efforts made to combat modern slavery, human trafficking and forced labour including pertinent transnational crime challenges confronting developing states.
It is a platform for holding bilateral talks on security co-operation among developed and developing countries.
Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and Foreign Minister of Indonesia Retno Marsudi are co-chairs for the high-level meeting. (T/RS5/RS1)
