Washington, MINA – The US military officer and Israel’s chief of staff held closed-door talks at the Pentagon on Friday amid rising tensions with Iran, US officials said.
Gen. Dan Caine, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, met with Eyal Zamir, Israel’s military chief, as Washington and Tel Aviv stepped up security coordination in response to regional developments. Details of the discussions were not disclosed.
The meeting came as the United States has increased its military presence in the Middle East, including deploying warships and strengthening air and missile defenses, amid concerns over Iran’s nuclear program and regional instability.
