Sudan Wants to Learn Unity from Indonesia

Jakarta, MINA – Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to Indonesia H.E Elsiddieg Abdulaziz Abdalla said, Sudan wanted to learn from Indonesia how to create association and unity among many tribes, an adherent of different religions and groups.

He said Sudan wants to be like Indonesia which despite having many differences, can live in harmony, calm and peace.

“Sudan has the same characteristics as Indonesia, consisting of various ethnic groups, different religions, and groups. For that we want to learn from Indonesia,” Ambassador Elsiddieg said at the Press Conference in Jakarta on Monday 22 July.

According to him, currently, Sudan is facing various challenges in forming a government and sovereign council after the ouster of President Omar Al-Bashir some time ago.

There are a number of challenges explained by Ambassador Elsiddieg such as economic problems, which until now Sudan is still getting economic sanctions from the United States. Thus causing many young people who graduate university not to get a job.

The unstable political and security situation in Sudan some time ago also caused political changes in the African country.

“In the near future the names of sovereign council members consisting of five elements of the military and five elements of the civil society plus one retired military figure as its leader will be announced soon,” he said.

For this reason, common perceptions and views can create stability and calm and Sudan is expected to be more calm and peaceful after a sovereign government is formed in the near future. (T/Ais/P2)
