NETANYAHU: IRAN MUST NEVER HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS

Rome, 18 Dzulhijjah 1434/ 24 October 2013 (MINA) – Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu emphasized during his meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry that Iran’s nuclear program aims to have nuclear weapons and they must not have the tools serving that purpose.

In his statement during the meeting with Kerry in US Embassy in Rome, Netanyahu said they are against the partial agreement with Iran, Anadolu Agency quoted by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

Reminding that the US did not agree with a partial agreement on denuclearization of Syria, Netanyahu said, “You were right, because if Assad had said that he would keep 20%, 50% or 80% of nuclear weapons, you would have objected to that.”

Israeli PM stressed that Iran must not have the centrifuges that are used in nuclear enrichment.

“Iran must demount the centrifuges that they have mounted so far. Iran must not have the tools that would produce nuclear weapons,” he said.

Words do not take the place of sanctions

US Secretary Kerry stated they will insist until Iran proves that their nuclear programme is peaceful and Iran must demonstrate that they carry out their nuclear programme for peaceful purposes respecting the standards which all the states having nuclear programme obey.

“Words do not take the place of sanctions” said Kerry, adding that it is early for sanctions addressing Iran to be withdrawn.
