Jeddah Talks on Gulf Crisis Come to an End

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir meets with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Jeddah

 

Jeddah, 19 Shawwal 1438/13 July 2017 (MINA) – Ministerial talks, regarding the fued between Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt, on the one hand, and Qatar, on the other, with the US Secretary of State ended here on Wednesday.

Attending alongside US State Secretary Rex Tillerson were represantatives of the four countries, and the crisis’ chief mediator, Kuwait, according to the state Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

They included Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir, the UAE’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gergash, Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Khalifa and Kuwait’s State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdallah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.

Earlier, Tillerson held seperate talks with Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The US chief diplomat’s visit to Saudi Arabia follows stops in Qatar and Kuwait.

During his visit to Kuwait on Monday, he reiterated support of Kuwait’s mediation efforts during talks with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. (T/RS5/RS1)
