ISRAEL INJURES MORE THAN 90 PALESTINIANS IN WEST BANK

       West Bank, 21 Rabiul Akhir 1434/3 March 2013 (MINA) –  Israeli Occupation Forces injured more than 90 Palestinians after attacking the angry rallies continued yesterday following the Friday prayers in different West Bank areas in protest at Israel’s settlement activities and in solidarity with the Palestinian prisoners.

        In Bethlehem, dozens of Palestinian young men took to the streets afternoon in support of the prisoners before clashes broke out between them and Israeli soldiers at the crossroads known as Al-Nashash.

       In Nablus city, hundreds of citizens responded to popular invitations and performed their Friday prayers near Hawara checkpoint to the south of the city in support of the prisoners, according to Alresalah.ps report monitored by Mi’raj News Agency (MINA), Sunday.

        Palestinian national and Islamic figures in Arraba town near Jenin also participated in a massive protest following the Friday prayers in support of the Palestinian hunger strikers in Israeli jails.

        The weekly-marches against the wall and settlement in different West Bank villages were also dedicated this Friday to advocating the cause of the Palestinian prisoners and the hunger strikers.

        According to news reports, confrontations erupted between Palestinians and Israeli troops in different areas in Salfit town after the prayers.

        Dozens of troops attacked the Palestinian villagers as they were performing their weekly prayers in the seized lands to the west of Salfit.

         The Israeli occupation forces also closed the entrances to the villages of Bidya, Qarawat Bani Hassan, and Kafl Hares, and prevented many villagers from going to the annexed lands to join the congregation.

         The villages of Masarah, Bil’in, and Kafr Qaddum also saw violent clashes with Israeli troops who used tear gas grenades and rubber bullets to subdue the protestors.

         Several injuries were reported among the protestors in these villages, and many others were arrested.

          In a separate incident, many Palestinian citizens, including children, suffered tear gas suffocation after a large force of Israeli troops violently stormed Al-Aroub refugee camp north of Al-Khalil city.

         A tear gas canister fell inside the house of Ismail Jawabra causing his three kids, one of them a newborn, to suffer severely from breathing problems as the invading troops hampered the access of ambulances to the camp to medically help the wounded. (T/P02/E1)
