ISRAEL CARRIES OUT THE LARGEST MANEUVERS IN THE HISTORY OF ITS IAF

West Bank, 23 Muharram 1435/27 November 2013 (MINA) – Israel has been executing the largest exercises in the history of the Israeli Air Force since Monday, with the participation of dozens of fighter jets.

Fighter jets take off from an air base south of the occupied Palestine.

“The Israeli Air Force carried out in Ovda military air base a joint exercise to test the American and Greek and Italian Joe weapons since Monday,” Israeli Ynet reported.

Israeli radio considered this as the largest international exercise conducted by Israel in its history, because of  the participation of nearly 60 military aircrafts of various types.

The U.S. Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro said that “Tel Aviv and Washington are cooperating in every area, and President Obama and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pattern their positions on a permanent agreement on Iran’s nuclear program . “

Ynet pointed out that the exercise was planned for almost the entire year to step up the level of the Israeli Air Force. Ynet stated that Israel exploits this opportunity to send an important message to Tehran ” as being able to move if necessary .”

There was no official comment from the Israeli authorities about the end of that process until the early hours of Tuesday morning.

It is noteworthy that the head of the U.S. Air Force Aladamrl Johntn Jrinart witnessed the exercises conducted south of occupied Palestine.

The Israeli Air Force  is the aerial warfare branch of the Israel Defense Forces. It was founded on May 28, 1948, shortly after the Israeli Declaration of Independence. As of May 2012, the Air Force Commander is Aluf Amir Eshel.

On January 30, 2013, Israeli aircraft allegedly struck a Syrian convoy transporting weapons to Hezbollah. Other sources stated the targeted site was a military research center in Jamraya responsible for developing biological and chemical weapons. Two additional air strikes reportedly took place on May 3 and 5, 2013. Both targeted long-ranged weapons in transit through Syria from Iran to Hezbollah in Lebanon. According to anonymous US officials, Israel launched another airstrike on 5 July. It targeted Russian-made Yakhont anti-ship missiles near the city of Latakia, and killed several Syrian troops.

The Israeli Air Force in many times fired into a residential neighborhood in the Gaza Strip. The missiles were launched in the heart of a residential neighborhood. Those planning the attack should therefore have expected that innocent civilians would be harmed, particularly given the incidents that have taken place during the past month. All of these facts raise the grave suspicion that the attack was a disproportionate attack of a nature defined as a war crime.(T/P08/P04)
